Anime Sunday: Aldnoah.Zero

This week I’m covering another Gen Urobutcher I mean Gen Urobuchi series. It’s Aldnoah.Zero!

Plot Synopsis: In 1972, an ancient alien hypergate was discovered on the surface of the moon. Using this technology, humanity began migrating to Mars and settling there. After settlers discovered additional advanced technology, the Vers Empire was founded, which claimed Mars and its secrets for themselves. Later, the Vers Empire declared war on Earth, and in 1999, a battle on the Moon’s surface caused the hypergate to explode, shattering the Moon and scattering remnants into a debris belt around the planet. Cut off from Mars, the remnants of the Vers Empire established several massive orbital space stations within the debris belt and a ceasefire was established.

Plot: The plot is quite intense, this show isn’t for children as you may have guessed by my flub above. So far there have been only four episodes, but that won’t stop me from recommending this series to anyone. This is going to be one of the best anime in years I’m guessing.

Characters: Inaho seems really unemotional in the first few episodes, and Slain seems extremely emotional compared to him. I can’t dislike either of them however.

Art: The artwork is amazing, and I love the opening sequence in particular. Don’t expect vibrant colors like No Game No Life, but do expect amazing art.

Music: The music for this show is just amazing, and the first opening is sung by Kalafina. The ending is decent, but nothing as good as the rest.

Overall: If you want an amazing Sci-Fi series watch this one.

For those who like: Sci-Fi, Mecha, Drama, Action and lots of it.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above, but how can you hate any of that?
