Bookish Wednesday: Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop

This week for Bookish Wednesday I’m covering the sequel to Written in Red! It’s Murder of Crows, Book 02 of the Others series, by Anne Bishop!

Plot Synopsis: After winning the trust of the terra indigene residing in the Lakeside Courtyard, Meg Corbyn has had trouble figuring out what it means to live among them. As a human, Meg should be barely tolerated prey, but her abilities as a cassandra sangue make her something more. However the appearance of two addictive drugs has sparked violence between the humans and the Others, resulting in the murder of both species in nearby cities.

Plot: The plot intensifies quite a bit, with more points of view from people not at all related to Meg. It’s quite an interesting way to deal with the plot that unfolds in this book and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The plot itself was intense from beginning to end and kept me enthralled quite a bit, which is always a good sign.

Characters: Steve Ferryman is probably my favorite of the new points of view we get this book, but I still enjoy Meg and Simon’s PoVs the best. It’s quite interesting to see them handle things that most of us would consider normal and be completely baffled by it. Charlie Crowguard however is the best non PoV character out of the newcomers, even Steve Ferryman can’t beat Charlie in this regard.

Overall: This is an even better sequel to an already amazing book. Definitely a must read.
