Serial Saturday: Atros Imperium Chapters 22-31 by Terry

This week for Serial Saturday I’m back with the fourth set of chapters in Anton’s adventures. It’s Atros Imperium Chapters 22-31 by Terry!

Plot Synopsis: Having defeated the leader of the band of Yellow Goblins that have been attacking Atros, Anton and Verona are now preparing to set out to a neighboring city to get much needed supplies, and hopefully new residents for Atros. But all is not as it seems and the path to Maxill is not a peaceful one…

Plot: This could be considered the start of Volume 2 of Atros Imperium, and it’s a nice break from the constant worry that the previous chapters have brought to Anton and us as readers. That being said, with the world expanding for us and Anton, we are learning a lot more about why things went the way the did in Kar.

Characters: We get introduced to a bunch of new faces in this set of chapters, but my favorite is easily Kal. As for why, you’ll have to read the chapters to find out. The new faces are all interesting and pretty good though.

Overall: A solid and fun set of chapters that broadens our view of the world Anton finds himself in.

Serial Saturday: Atros Imperium Chapters 17-21 by Terry

This week for Serial Saturday I’m back with the third set of chapters in Anton’s new life. It’s Atros Imperium Chapters 17-21 by Terry!

Plot Synopsis: Having assaulted the mountain that the Goblin’s had infested, Anton and the rest of the people of Atros now are returning to their home, both victorious and weary to the bone. But things aren’t over and the Goblin horde will be seeking their blood for the attack they just suffered…

Plot: This is the final set of chapters in what could be termed Volume 1, and that’s why I’m only covering four of them. They also happen to be incredibly long for Web Novels, which is something I always appreciate.  In addition we get some much needed explanation on the world, and in particular the fallen Kingdom of Kar.

Characters: We don’t get any new faces in this set of chapters, but the cast we’ve already met gets a bit more depth. Verona in particular really starts to shine as a character.

Overall: A great set of chapters.

Serial Saturday: Atros Imperium Chapters 9-16 by Terry

This week for Serial Saturday I’m back with the second set of chapters in Anton’s exploration of a new world. It’s Atros Imperium Chapters 9-16 by Terry!

Plot Synopsis: Anton Thorn died in an incident of his own creation, his body torn and shredded to pieces. Yet death and eternal rest did not await him. Gods, from another world, took his soul along many others to their world to fight an overwhelming and impossible foe. By chance and oversight his soul was missed by the gods, his soul destined to remain in limbo and torment for all eterinity. A few weak and desperate gods took a chance with him and brought him through to their world. Now sent far away from the battle, in his original body, to a small village in the husk of a dead kingdom. It is now up to him to restore the Kingdom and fight off anything that would threaten him or those he loves; be they human, beast, monster or hero.

Plot: This is a rather important set of chapters as it really sets up the rest of the series, and shows us how dark the world Anton has found himself in. I won’t say much more, but this set of chapters is not for the faint of heart.

Characters: We get to meet a couple new faces, but for the most part this entire set of chapters is based on exploring the already met cast. Anton is still very much the protagonist though.

Overall: A solid, if somewhat dark, set of chapters in a series that is pretty awesome.

Serial Saturday: Atros Imperium Chapters 0-8 by Terry

This week for Serial Saturday I’m back with a series I have yet to cover. It’s Atros Imperium Chapters 0-8 by Terry!

Plot Synopsis: Anton Thorne is a working man with no family, friends or loved ones in his life. One day after a particularly brutal day at work which ended with him berating his boss and probably losing his job he boards the bus to go home. However everything quickly goes awry when it’s boarded by a group of gang members, unfortunately for Anton his day is only beginning to go wrong and much worse things await him…

Plot: I won’t go to far into the plot just quite yet, but this is a Fantasy series, I will say that. What you gather from that before reading is up to you, however the prologue is not fully indicative of the rest of the series, I will say that. There are some minor plot threads left hanging and they still have yet to be answered by the author, but that’s not too big an issue as the story isn’t terrible enough for me to really nitpick.

Characters: We get introduced to a pretty large cast in these first few chapters, but of them all my favorite side character is probably Right Jeff. If that makes no sense, you’ll understand when you read these chapters. However Anton is the star, sort of. He makes the best of his situation with a bunch of grit and is honestly a pretty good main character. The rest of the cast is just as good, with most of them having pretty good depth, for the amount of characters that are in just these first few chapters.

Overall: A solid and fun Fantasy read with quite a few twists from standard genres that Atros Imperium is based off of.

For those who like: Fantasy, Magic, Good Plot, Excellent Cast of Characters.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above, but how can you hate all that?
