This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m covering the third set of chapters in Crockta’s journey for justice. It’s Praise the Orc Chapters 81-120 by Lee Jungmin!
Plot Synopsis: Crockta journeyed to the sealed northern lands in order to find answers to questions he has. Joining him is Tiyo, gnome marksman extraordinaire. Here though he was met with Orcs, but they weren’t the same as the proud and noble people he knew from the south….
Plot: This set of chapters details Crockta’s adventures in the North and while they aren’t wrapped up by the end of this set, the majority of the story is dealt with in these 40 chapters. The story has picked up steam and is now rocketing towards the end, and by the time you finish chapter 120, you’ll be done with half the story.
Characters: We get quite a few new faces, including one very obvious expy of a certain famous scimitar wielding character… However Tiyo is still my favorite.
Overall: A solid set of chapters marking the halfway mark through this series. It’s hit it’s stride and it’s only going to rocket it’s way to the end from here on out.
This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m covering the second set of chapters in Crockta’s rise to power. It’s Praise the Orc Chapters 41-80 by Lee Jungmin!
Plot Synopsis: Jung Ian, a cafe owner with a dark past, jumped into the world of virtual reality Elder Lord in order to protect his sister from any predators. However, things may not be as simple as they seem, as the world and its inhabitants proved to be much deeper than he believed them to be. Witness as he explores the lands of Elder Lord as an orc, a species labeled as the “game creator’s mistake”, making fast friends and defeating any and all before him!
Plot: This set of chapters is where the story picks up quite a bit, although my previous criticism regarding how little attention his sister gets will hold throughout the book. Frankly while the story is good, it’s not amazing and there are many things that could’ve been improved, like including Ian’s sister in the plot for more than a few sentences here or there.
Characters: In this set of chapters we get introduced to one of my favorite characters in the entire story, as for who he is, dot, I’ll leave that for you to find out. I think I gave a big enough hint already.
Overall: A solid set of chapters in a good, but not amazing, series.
This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m covering the sixth set of chapters in Yu IlHan’s adventures. It’s Everyone Else is a Returnee Book 06 by Toika!
Plot Synopsis: Having adopted a dragon as his son, Yu IlHan has set up his armor and weapon shop Vanguard that sells equipment to those who helped him out during prior events, like Kang MiRae and her group. But the storm is only intensifying and what is coming towards Earth is something even Yu IlHan wasn’t expecting to happen….
Plot: This is a fun set of chapters, mostly because it really sets Mir up as a badass in his own right. I won’t say much other than that, because it would really be too spoilerific.
Characters: Mir was probably my favorite character in this set of chapters, although MiRae and YuNa were great as well.
Overall: The story has really taken off now, and the ride only continues to get more intense from here on out. If you aren’t reading this series yet, you really need to do so.
That’s it for this week’s Translation Necessary Thursday.
This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m back with the fourth entry in Lyle’s Adventures! It’s Sevens Volume 04 by Mishima Yomu!
Plot Synopsis: Having undergone a second post Growth episode and become mr. lyle once more, Lyle Walt is now conquering the Arumsaas Labryinth without the use of his skills in order to become a better adventurer. What awaits him, other than his newly automaton companion awakened by a kiss….
Plot: This entry is pretty good, and really is upbeat compared to the last couple entries. That said it does have it’s lower moments, but for the most part it’s a fun ride. I won’t say much more about, because that’d go into spoilers.
Characters: We don’t get many new faces, but I’ll say I like Porter and Poyopoyo the most. You’ll understand once you read the volume.
Overall: A solid fourth entry, more upbeat than the past two entries.
This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m covering the fifth entry in Yu IlHan’s adventures. This’ll be a short post because I’ve come down with a cold so no Plot Synopsis today. It’s Everyone Else is a Returnee Book 05 by Toika!
Plot: This entry introduces us to a really major character for us and the plotline. I won’t spoil who it is, but it’s a pretty fun character. We also get some more movement on the main plotline which is great as well.
Characters: Like I said above we get some new faces, and I still won’t spoil them. Yu IlHan though is still my favorite character, if only because he absolutely destroys all foreshadows.
Overall: A great entry in an awesome series. If you aren’t reading it already, you ought to be.
That’s it for this week Translation Necessary Thursday. I apologize for how short it is, but I really am not feeling to amazing.
This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m covering the third volume in Lyle Walt’s adventures. It’s Sevens Volume 03 by Mishima Yomu!
Plot Synopsis: Having become fully fledged Adventurers, Lyle Walt along with Novem Forxuz, his ex-fiancee and his first love, and Aria Lockwarde, a disgraced noble and now potential harem member, leave the city of Dalien and head to the academic city of Arumsaas which has it’s own Labyrinth they use for both study and trade. There they will encounter much more then they were expecting to….
Plot: The plot of this third entry is pretty good although it starts off a bit depressing due to how the second novel ended. I’ll freely admit I cried during that scene in the second book. Thankfully this book helps pick the mood back up. I won’t go too much into the plot, but it was pretty exciting, and there may or may not be an appearance of everyone’s favorite character (except Lyle).
Characters: We get introduced to a couple new faces in this entry, Clara, Miranda and Shannon along with a Professor Damien who is a bit of a creepy guy if highly intelligent. There are some more people, but I won’t go into them because of spoilers. Needless to say that the newcomers were very interesting. Clara is probably my favorite, if only because I’d love to have her Skill (which lets her copy books she’s read and allows for an eidetic memory).
Overall: A solid entry in a pretty good series. If you haven’t started reading the series, you probably should.
This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m covering the fourth entry in the journey of everyone’s favorite foreshadow destroyer. It’s Everyone Else is a Returnee Book 04 by Toika!
Plot Synopsis: Having traveled to Japan to help combat a Dungeon Wave, Yu IlHan and his freeloading companions Erta and Lita got caught up in an epic battle across Japan where IlHan has earned the moniker Susanoo after the Japanese storm god. Now while fighting against a huge monster he’s called the Orochi IlHan is suddenly hit by a new sensation…
Plot: This is pretty action packed again, although there are some serious plot developments that occur as well. I won’t get into the details of them, because spoilers, but this book just might happen to be my favorite of the ones I’ve covered so far.
Characters: We get to meet some new faces, although as they are pretty spoiler-ific I won’t go into detail. My favorites is still IlHan, for his constant foreshadow destruction.
Overall: If you aren’t reading this series yet, you really ought to be.
