TNT: Heartwarming Dungeon Volume 01 by Ryuryu

Hey all I’m back for this week’s Translation Necessary Thursday with a new Light Novel series. It’s Heartwarming Dungeon Volume 01 by Ryuryu!

Plot: The plot is pretty light hearted and reminds me a bit of Lazy Dungeon Master. That being said the main character isn’t nearly as lazy and unmotivated as Keima ever is, and is actually a hard worker. Mostly this is a very light hearted story, as is evidenced by it’s title. The full thing is “I Became the Demon Lord so I Created a Dungeon and Spend Heartwarming Time There with Non-Human Girls” or Maou ni Natta node, Dungeon Tsukutte Jingai Musume to Honobono Suru in Japanese. Personally I thought my contraction suited it best, but others may find otherwise.

Characters: Yuki is our main character and he’s a pretty likeable person. The main heroine is Lefi, as for what she is I’ll leave that to you to find out. The rest of the cast is pretty great as well.

Overall: This is a solid beginning to a series, I’ll have to read more of it before giving it a definitive judgement, but so far this is much better than some of the more recent stuff I’ve read.

For those who like: Fantasy, Isekai, Tensei, Lighter Stories, Great Plot, Excellent Cast of Characters.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.

TNT: Bluesteel Blasphemer Volume 02 by Sakaki Ichirou

Hey all I’m back with the second entry in an axed series for this week’s Translation Necessary Thursday. It’s Bluesteel Blasphemer Volume 02 by Sakaki Ichirou!

Plot: Now I know in my previous Translation Necessary Thursday I covered the first volume and I said to stay away. For those of you who thought I should’ve given this series a second chance I did, and read the second volume. It was just as bad as the first, with it having some seriously dark fantasy elements just because that’s the general fad in a ton of fantasy at the moment. Honestly I totally regret reading this second volume with it being a massive waste of time. The romance portions are just hamfisted and honestly not that well done.

Overall: I’m going to skip the rest of this review and say once more to steer clear of this series, it was axed for a very good reason.

TNT: Bluesteel Blasphemer Volume 01 by Sakaki Ichirou

This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m covering a series that was axed. It’s Bluesteel Blasphemer Volume 01 by Sakaki Ichirou!

Plot: The plot is bland and dull. I’ve read so many other similar novels that this was uninteresting and not that good of a read. Considering that the publisher cancelled the series abruptly I’m not surprised that my sentiments aren’t unique to just myself. Honestly if you are desperate to read any Light Novel you’d be better off finding a different one, because Bluesteel is just disappointing all around. The fact that it’s a Tensei series and not that original just is icing on the fail cake that is this series.

Characters: Amano is boring and not that an amazing a main character. The rest of the cast is little better.

Overall: Stay away from this one, it’s really not that great and most people would agree with me since it got axed.

TNT: Maou na Ore to Fushihime no Yubiwa by Kankitsu Yasura

Hey all I’m taking a look back at a series I read years back for Translation Necessary Thursday. It’s Maou na Ore to Fushihime no Yubiwa by Kankitsu Yasura!

Plot: The plot is very mediocre, and is more focused on the romance comedy drama than it’s action from what I remember. I’d give a more detailed critique, but honestly I can’t be bothered to remember it since I don’t recall anything but being bored reading this entire series. I think I read it all in a single day half a decade ago and it wasn’t that great which is fairly obvious since I can barely recall a thing about this series. The characters are all super stereotypical and the plot is a drag.

Characters: Chiharu is our male lead and I honestly don’t like him all that much. He’s bland and not that interesting. The rest of the cast is little better.

Overall: Steer clear of this series, it’s not worth the time.

TNT: Kuro no Maou by Hishi Kage Dairi

Hey all I’m back with a novel that I thoroughly despise for this week’s Translation Necessary Thursday. It’s Kuro no Maou by Hishi Kage Dairi!

Plot: Let me just get this out of the way and say that I hate everything about this novel. From the plot to the utterly depressing tone, I hate it all. The plot is incredibly dark for what seems to be just the sake of being incredibly depressing. I’ve made my views clear on the subject clear before, I find no use for such stories and despise them with a passion because they are the antithesis to everything I enjoy about stories, so I won’t go over it again. Everything I’ve said about the subject before shows up in this novel series.

Characters: Kurono is our main character and I hate him, if only because he is so powerless in the face of ever darker tones in the story. I’ll again point to the above regarding my thoughts about the characters.

Overall: Steer far away from this series if you are like me and find no use for Dark Fantasy stories that are just dark for the sake of being dark.
