TNT: Magic Craft Meiser Chapters 1-26 by Aki Gitsune
Hey all I’m back for this week’s Translation Necessary Thursday with another Isekai series. It’s Magic Craft Meiser Chapters 1-26 by Aki Gitsune!
Plot Synopsis: There is only one Magi Craft Meister in the world. After the death of the last Meister over one thousand years ago, Nidou Jin was transported to another world in order to succeed her will. After obtaining the knowledge of the Magi Craft Meister, Jin attempts to use a warp gate but it malfunctions, transporting him to an unknown place….
Plot: The plot is mediocre at best, and honestly not that appealing. It’s a Slice of Series that screams for a more interesting main character along with a more interesting cast.
Characters: The entire cast is pretty lackluster, Jin is incredibly bland and none of the other characters are much better. Reiko might have been interesting, but frankly she gets pretty much no screen time in this arc.
Overall: A skippable series, you aren’t missing anything of note.
For those who like: Fantasy, Isekai, Magic, Crafter Protagonists.
Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above, or bland Plot and even blander Cast of Characters.
TNT: Hachinan tte Chapters 12-22 by Fuzi Choco
This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m back with the second set of chapters in Wend’s new life. It’s Hachinan tte Chapters 12-22 by Fuzi Choco!
Plot Synopsis: Ichinomiya Shingo, a young 25 years old, single, worker of firm company while thinking of tomorrow’s busy working day goes to sleep. However, the moment he woke up, it was inside a room unknown to him. He then learned that he took over the mind of Wendelin a 6 years-old child, remembering a lot from the memories of the said boy: he was born as the youngest (8th son and 10th child) in a of poor noble family living in back country. Having no administrative skill, he can’t do anything to manage the vast land his family has. Fortunately, he is blessed with the very rare talent of magic.
Plot: The plot is okay, but honestly it’s pretty standard for a Tensei series. The plot pacing is also fairly slow, so those who enjoy fast plots won’t enjoy this set of chapters at all.
Characters: We don’t get to meet a bunch of new characters, but we do get a few like Amalie and Klaus. Honestly though it’s mainly focused on Wend.
Overall: An okay, but not amazing set of chapters.
TNT: Hachinan tte Chapters 1-11 by Fuzi Choco
This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m back with a new series I’ve yet to cover. It’s Hachinan tte Chapters 1-11 by Fuzi Choco!
Plot Synopsis: Ichinomiya Shingo, a young 25 years old, single, worker of firm company while thinking of tomorrow’s busy working day goes to sleep. However, the moment he woke up, it was inside a room unknown to him. He then learned that he took over the mind of a 6 years-old child, remembering a lot from the memories of the said boy: he was born as the youngest (8th son and 10th child) in a of poor noble family living in back country. Having no administrative skill, he can’t do anything to manage the vast land his family has. Fortunately, he is blessed with the very rare talent of magic. Unfortunately, while it could bring prosperity to his family, in his situation it only led to a disaster. Yes, this is the story of the boy, Wendelin Von Benno Baumeister, opening his own path in a harsh world.
Plot: The plot is okay, but it’s not super amazing. Wend isn’t the smarted guy around, and that can be aggravating at times. Another aggravating thing is the frequent breaks to monologue or do random world building. The author is not that great at writing and I’ve read much better written stories before.
Characters: The cast in these first few chapters isn’t big, but Erich is probably my favorite side character. Wend on the other hand is kind of a dumbass and the stupid stuff he does just because he can is mind boggling.
Overall: A skippable series, this isn’t worth the time you’d spend reading it.
For those who like: Tensei, Fantasy, Magic, Drama
Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
Light Novel Thursday: Mushoku Tensei by Rifujin na Magonote
This week on Light Novel Thursday I’m covering a series that I really love, it’s Mushoku Tensei -Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu by Rifujin na Magonote.
Plot Synopsis: A 34-year-old Hikikomori NEET otaku was chased out from his house by his family. This virgin, plump, unattractive, and penniless guy found that his life was heading towards a dead end. He recalled that his life could actually become much better if he can get over the dark history of his life.
Just when he was at the point of total despair, he saw a truck moving at a high speed with 3 high school students in its path. Mustering all of his strength he saves them, but ends up getting run over by the truck, which kills him.
The next time he opens his eyes, he had been reincarnated to a world of swords and magic, as Rudeus Greyrat with his previous life’s memories intact. Born to a new world and a new life, Rudeus declared to himself, “This time, I’ll really live my life to the fullest with no regrets!” Thus begins the journey of a newly made man.
Plot: Like I said I really like this series, and that’s because while Rudy is a failure in his previous life he realizes that he was a failure for his arrogance in that life. So he always tries to be humble in this new life. It makes him a really likable character. It also helps that his new father is a natural playboy and Rudy inherits that gene from him. The first volume covers his first seven years of life, while later volumes cover relatively less time as the story goes along, by the time you reach the third volume Rudy is only ten years old. The series is also slightly Harem like, but not nearly along the lines of other Harem series.
Characters: Rudy is a blast to read, and the rest of the characters are awesome as well. My favorite other than Rudy is probably Zanoba, a prince from a minor kingdom who is obsessed with “Dolls”. Rudy is also quite a bit of a pervert, but he isn’t nearly as open about it as Ise from High School DxD is. However you never feel too creeped out by Rudy.
Art: The artwork is pretty great, nothing spectacular though like No Game No Life’s artwork though.
Overall: If you enjoy a story about redemption and love adventure stories, you have to check this one out.
For those who like: Fantasy, Redemption stories, Perveted Main Characters, Amazing Characters, Great World Building comparable to Brandon Sanderson’s work.
Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above, but if you hate all of that you are no fun whatsoever.
