TNT: Saint’s Power Volume 01 by Tachibana Yuka

Hey all this week I’m back with another Isekai series for Translation Necessary Thursday. It’s Saint’s Power Volume 01 by Tachibana Yuka!

Plot: The plot is pretty slow paced for an Isekai though considering it’s mainly a Shoujo series that isn’t too surprising as it’s not aimed at males that tend to prefer action and adventure. I enjoyed this first volume quite a bit.

Characters: Sei is our main character and is pretty interesting, she doesn’t go out adventuring or anything like that she just goes and works in the Medicinal Plants division, which is kind of hilarious compared to most Isekai. The rest of the cast is interesting as well, though Sei being a bit of an airhead she doesn’t really understand what she’s doing most of the time and it’s kind of hilarious to see the rest of the cast react to her.

Overall: A fun slow paced Isekai series with a female lead.

For those who like: Isekai, Powerful Female Leads, Slow Paced Plots, Interesting Cast of characters.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.

TNT: 5000 Nen Dragon Volume 01 by Enomoto Kaisei

This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m back with the first volume in a somewhat amusing series I came across recently. It’s 5000 Nen Dragon Volume 01 by Enomoto Kaisei!

Plot: The plot is highly ridiculous and more slapstick than anything else. It’s very much not an action oriented fantasy series and even the times it does have action it’s more comedic than anything else. If that is your preferred fantasy sub-genre then 5000 Nen Dragon will most likely be for you. That being said the plot is not that amazing as the entire premise is based off misunderstandings and it can only take that joke so far before it loses it’s amusement factor.

Characters: Revienda is our lead Point of View character, but he’s really not that fun of one. He’s an incredibly passive character, which is definitely intended but it doesn’t make him all that interesting. Reiko the female lead is much more outgoing, but being the incredibly dense outgoing hero is still an overused device and quickly loses it’s appeal. Frankly I had a hard time pushing through my boredom reading this story to enjoy it all that much.

Overall: This is an okay series, but it’s got very little depth to it and the premise is incredibly short lived.

For those who like: Fantasy, Comedy, Misunderstandings as the Main Plot Premise.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above, or something with very little depth.

TNT: Only Sense Online Volume 05 by Aloha Zachou

This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m covering a series I haven’t covered in over a year! It’s Only Sense Online Volume 05 by Aloha Zachou!

Plot: The plot is much less action oriented in this volume sadly, and while that does fit this series well, it will turn away those who are looking for more action in a series that sometimes lacks it quite a bit. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but the short action sequences were very lackluster and don’t really involve our heroine Yun. That said it’s definitely a more “fluffy” series like Kuma Kuma Kuma, but some may not enjoy it.

Characters: We don’t get any newcomers in this entry in the series, and it mostly reintroduces us to some people we didn’t see much of in the past volume. It was an okay entry, but short on character development.

Overall: An okay entry, but light on the action.

TNT: House Magic Chapters 1-29 by Amaui Shiro

This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m back with the first arc in another Isekai series. It’s House Magic Chapters 1-29 by Amaui Shiro!

Plot Synopsis: Living carefree at home is the greatest shortcut—- My house is the world’s greatest magic power spot, that being the case both my house and I were summoned to another world by some guys who were aiming for it. However, I’ve been living in this place for many years and my body is, apparently, abnormally overflowing with magic. Due to some unforeseen circumstances by those guys who summoned me, they quickly ran away….

Plot: The plot is really quite bland, which is made worse by the fact that the main character Daichi is a lazy ass bum. He wants nothing more than to sleep and that’s his driving goal in life.

Characters: Other than Daichi, who like I said above is very much a lazy bum and incredibly one dimensional, the rest of the cast is pretty okay. However due to how freaking dense the guy is, it makes only for a frustrating experience.

Overall: Skip this series, it’s really not that great.

For those who like: Fantasy, Isekai, Overpowered Protagonists, Lazy Protagonists.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above, or bland Plots.

TNT: Growth Cheat Chapters 32-53 by Yousuke Tokino

This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m back with the second arc in Ichinojo’s adventures. It’s Growth Cheat Chapters 32-53 by Yousuke Tokino!

Plot Synopsis: I, Ichinosuke, failed to get a job for 100 consecutive times. Furthermore, my record is still being updated as unemployed. On my way to a job interview, I was involved in an accident with a truck and tragically passed away. And then, a pair of Goddesses bestowed upon me the ability to grow at a speed 400 times faster than normal, before sending me to a game-like otherworld. However, knowing that I would not become stronger even if I continued growing while jobless, I aimed to get a job, but I found out that it was my terrible fate to remain jobless….

Plot: It’s an okay arc, though the peak of the arc is due more to a certain pair of idiots more than anything of Ichinojo’s doing.

Characters: We get introduced to a few new characters, but my favorite might be Centaur. Scratch that, it is definitely Centaur.

Overall: A fun set of chapters.
