Video Game Tuesday: Things I Expect to See in Destiny 2

This week for Video Game Tuesday I’m making a list, and no I’m not checking it twice. It’s Things I Expect to See in Destiny 2!

What do you mean expect to see?: I mean things that would make a huge amount of sense to be added to the game in the very near future in order to make the game feel even more alive and vibrant.

#1 Grimoire: The big problem with Grimoire in Destiny 1 was the fact it wasn’t accessible in game. It shouldn’t be hard to include something like the Mass Effect 1 Codex in the game. It’d really help flesh out the world of Destiny. This should’ve been a feature in the first game, so there is absolutely no reason that it shouldn’t be in Destiny 2 already.

#2 Reworked Matchmaking in Patrol areas: This is also something that shouldn’t be an issue, but it still is. I can zone into a public zone on Titan and be completely alone. This shouldn’t be the case, especially with 1.3 million players. I want to see the max amount of people in a zone often instead of never. I’d rather be complaining about getting my kills stolen by assholes than be completely alone attempting to do a Heroic Public Event by myself and failing miserably. The crowds you see in the social spaces should be what you see in every Patrol.

#3 Sparrow Racing: This was actually one of the better PvP activities in Destiny 1, because it was so different from the rest of the game where you are shooting everything that twitches. The fact that it happened only twice in Destiny 1 is a true shame, and frankly I’d like to see Sparrow Racing become a weekly thing like the Trials of the Nine. Of course the fact that I consistently lapped everyone on the track might make me a bit biased, but frankly I enjoyed being able to relax by racing in Destiny 1.

That’s it for this week’s Video Game Tuesday. Got something you want to see in Destiny 2? Leave it in the comments below!

Video Game Tuesday: Destiny 2

This week for Video Game Tuesday I’m going to cover the topic you all knew I would eventually. It’s all about Destiny 2!

Destiny 2: It was announced on March 30th that Destiny 2 was a real thing and would be released this year, but there were some big “surprises” announced. It would release on the PC and everything, or close to everything, wouldn’t transfer from the first game and it’s “expansions”.

PC?!?: Yea color me not that surprised, it was rumored for months prior to the announcement that it would release on PC, so I’m really not that surprised. It was a surprise it didn’t release on the PC in the first place to be honest. And just to clarify I probably won’t be playing it on PC as my main platform if I should happen to receive codes for both PC and PS4.

Wait our stuff?: Yea all that time you spent on gearing up your characters, getting cool things like Exotics, fancy looking ships, awesome Shaders, and cool Emblems was wasted. The only confirmed thing that will transfer over is the appearance of your characters, but that’s hardly a thing to be excited about. It’s not like we were ever all that attached to our characters since Destiny never had much of a story. I’d hope at least cosmetic stuff like Shaders, Emblems, Ghost Shells, Sparrows and Shaders would transfer over, but that isn’t confirmed and probably won’t happen.

My Hopes?: I hope the game transfers over the cosmetic stuff, has a story that isn’t a piece of crap, and has a loot system that doesn’t exploit players. My expectations that any of those will be met is very low, and all of them being met? Practically non-existent. I hope Bungie can redeem themselves, but I highly doubt that is possible at this point.

Video Game Tuesday: E3 2016 Predictions

e3

It’s nearly that time of year again and I’m going to make some guesses for this week’s Video Game Tuesday! It’s my E3 2016 Predictions!

Things that will be discussed for sure: Sports games (ugh), Call of Duty (let it die already!), Destiny (let’s see how Bungie shoots themselves in the feet this year), and Zelda Wii U. Now for my actual guesses!

Nintendo: I think I remember reading something on Kotaku a month or two back about how Zelda will be the only thing discussed during E3, but I bet we’ll get some word about the NX, if only to learn when we can learn about it in an upcoming Nintendo Direct.

Sony: They’ll be talking about some first party exclusives, and there’s good chances of the PS4.5 being announced formally.

Microsoft: Like Sony, there is a good chance that they’ll be talking about the Xbox One hardware updates they have planned. There’s also a very good chance at them announcing Halo 6. Oh and they’ll bring the yearly sports games onto their conference stage like always.

Ubisoft: Watch Dogs 2 will be announced most likely, hopefully it’ll take the concept of the first game and make it a masterpiece like they did with Assassin’s Creed and Assassin’s Creed II. There will most likely also announce Far Cry 5, but who knows. Thankfully Assasin’s Creed has been confirmed to be taking a break this year, hopefully they can reinvigorate the series, but no high hopes from me on that.

Bungie: They’ll announce the September Destiny expansion and barf up some lines about they’re going to knock our socks off with a real story in Destiny 2. I’ll believe it when I finish playing the review copy.

That’s it for this week’s Video Game Tuesday! What are some of your guesses about what will be talked about or announced this year? Leave a comment below!

Video Game Tuesday: Thoughts on the PS4.5

ps4

This week for Video Game Tuesday I’m going to share my thoughts on something I’ve been hearing lots of chatter on recently. It’s all about my Thoughts on the PS4.5!

PS4.5?: Sony is rumored to be developing a PS4 system to handle 4K resolution and probably include all sorts of other upgrades to the system, from memory space to sound of system running and its heat output.

Really? That sounds awesome!: Well yes and no, for those of us who already own a PS4 it’s not that exciting as we’re getting the short end of the stick if this turns out to be true. It also means developers may need to make two seperate versions of a game to play on two essentially different systems as resolution differences would require it most likely. Honestly I’m not sure on my stance on wether I’m excited or not. I’m excited that they could update the system to allow for 4K resolutions, but I don’t have the money to shell out for buying the system all over again.

Really you aren’t sure?: Well yea, I feel upset and excited at the same time, I feel screwed over by Sony if they actually do release a separate system, but I also feel super excited that they have the balls to even contemplate the idea. Like I said it’d increase development time and costs immensely if this turns out to be true.

Honestly I’ll probably take a look at this subject again after E3 in a month and half.

That’s it for this week’s Video Game Tuesday! See you next week!

Video Game Tuesday: My E3 Reactions

e3

This week on Video Game Tuesday I’m covering what I thought about this years E3. It’s all about My E3 Reactions!

Conferences: Well Sony and Microsoft did the best this year in terms of conferences, Microsoft did great with the HoloLens and pushing that tech. I’m looking forward to seeing that technology become amazing. Sony did great with dropping all sorts of bombshells. That being said there were problem areas in those two conferences, the EA interlude in the Microsoft one and Sony had some people on stage that were just boring to listen to. Nintendo on the other hand did it’s own thing, which I can only think of shooting itself in the foot. Ubisoft, EA and Square Enix were the publishers who had conferences this year other than the Big 3 and they had medicore conferences, with Square being the best of the three. EA’s was easily the worst.

Big Announcements:

Fallout 4 console editions will have Mods: I’m excited for that, although the PS4 may not get them which makes me sad.

The Last Guardian is alive: It should be coming out in 2016, but I won’t believe it until I have the game in my hands.

Shenmue III is on Kickstarter: Holy crap, I’ve always had a soft spot for the series since my cousin introduced me to it years ago.  It got funded within hours, making it the fastest funded and most expensive video game on Kickstarter! I’m hoping they also re-release the older games for the PS4.

Final Fantasy VII is being remade completely: I never saw this coming as it’s the console gamer equivalent of Half-Life 3. Hopefully the remake is good, but I personally would’ve preferred it if they had chosen IX or VI instead of VII.

Xbox One is getting a new controller: Sort of, it’s a $150 version that includes neat features that are completely unnecessary and it probably won’t sell very well.

Xbox One is getting backwards compatibility: The only thing I can see that the Xbox One has over the PlayStation 4 at this point, having backwards compatibility. I wish the PS4 would have this coming too, but it sounds like it’s not going to happen. Oh well.

Xbox One is getting Early Access: This will probably become a nightmare, if the Steam Early Access is anything to go by.

What Didn’t Get Announced:

Final Fantasy XV: No release date was announced, although this may be announced later in the year at another conference. I’m hoping so at least.

Zelda Wii U: No release date or window. Nintendo has been slowly losing my trust over the last 7 years, but I keep hoping they’ll bring their heads out of the ground soon.

That’s it for this week’s Video Game Tuesday!
