This week I’m reviewing a one volume series by the author of A Certain Magical Index, Kamachi Kazuma. It’s The Circumstances Leading to Waltraute’s Marriage!
Plot Synopsis: In the world of Norse mythology, a human boy falls in love with Waltraute, the fourth Valkyrie sister. He wishes to marry her, but Waltraute gives him an impossible challenge to deter him. Nevertheless, the boy is determined to carry out the dangerous task and to marry Waltraute afterwards.
Plot: The plot isn’t very serious and that’s to the benefit of the novel because Kamachi Kazuma does plenty of serious stuff in his other works. I absolutely love how they portray Loki in this novel, because it’s a really novel approach to the character.
Characters: The Human Boy is easily lovable, but Waltraute is most definitely the star of the novel. Also I don’t think the Boy ever get’s a name in the story which is odd, but funny.
Art: It’s nothing amazing, but good enough for this novel.
Overall: If you enjoy a romantic comedy series that doesn’t drag on, try this novel.
For those who like: Fantasy, Romantic Comedies, Norse Mythology.
Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
